R.I.P. : Murphy O'Clancy Brown

Murphy, we hardly knew ye...

Personally, I am very ashamed that I haven't taken more digital pictures of her. If I find some more, I will definitely create a new gallery to house them.

At 14 years of age (that's 98 in human years!), Murphy has had a good run at life. While her favorite thing to do is to take a nap, she has certainly enjoyed a good walk or a fun romp through the snow. She also loved to drag her unsuspecting walker along when she found something interesting to chase at the park. She is a happy, easy-going dog that is rarely ever vicious and just loves kids.

Murphy has been our dog for over 14 years now. At this point in my life, that means I have lived more years with her than I have without her. For Meaghan and Sean, it's even more dramatic. They've known Murphy since they were 4 years old - that's practically their entire lives.

Unfortunately, Murphy has suffered from a number of recent health problems, ranging from Urinary Tract Infections to tumors developing on her feet. Lately, she has no longer been able to walk, and has to be carried out to the yard so that she can do her business. It is with a heavy heart that it was decided to put her down. However, it is a comfort to know that her suffering and pain will soon be over, and that she will be in a better place.

Murphy, you will be missed.

She was a great dog. I know many have been through something like this before but it can't take away the pain it brings to this family.
She is a dog, but she was also a part of this family. While I know she has to go out on a bad, painful note, her pain will end.
Murphy, you surely will be missed and I hope you know how much we loved you.

What can I say, Murphy was one of my best friends. I know she is a dog, but she knew when you were sad. She would give me kisses or just lick me, and suprisigly it made me happy again. I would give anything for her to just walk over to me and give me her paw. Murphy was a great dog and friend. She loved to go on walks and run through the snow and drag Kevin down with her ah...memories. I'll miss you Murphy baby. I love you. I scatter you in the backyard where we all had great times with you.

Murphy

I thought about you earlier today but I
didn't understand why. I see your face when
I look out there and every time I cry.
I often find my self, calling your name.
And now I wish you would come back so we can play a game.
You’ve helped my through some rough times, Lord,
knows you were always there. I used to think you
looked so cute, the way you’d sit and stare.
You’d always lend a sympathetic ear, a problem you’d
never miss. And I miss the way; on my cheek you’d lay
a little doggy kiss.
I know you’re gone for good now, though it is hard for
me to see. That you won’t come when I call your name;
it will always be strange...
I know you didn’t leave me empty handed; you left me
a part of you. And, I will always remember how much you
loved me, and the thoughtful things you’d do.
It is hard for me to realize no more cookies you will
mooch. And, it is hard for me to say goodbye, so rest
is peace, my pooch.

Sorry to hear about the dog. What else can I say? Kevin never let me in the house so I did't get a chance to ever meet Murphy.
